Call for Papers


SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS


Abstracts are invited from members of AORC or IGSRV. Non-members of the associations can present papers or posters by invitation only. Those wishing to do so should contact the Chairman of the Organising Committee. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 30th April 2006

Abstract format
1) The presenting author must be listed first.
2) Abstracts should contain no more than 400 words. No references or illustrations should be
included.
3) All presentations must be in ENGLISH.
4) The abstract should contain the title of the paper, name of author(s) and address(es) where the work was performed. These can be additional to the 400 word limit.
5) Use of standard abbreviations is desirable. Place special or unusual abbreviations in
parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
6) The original abstract on disk (Microsoft Word format) and one hard copy must be submitted no later than 30th April 2006 to Mrs Louise Holder, R & W Communications, Suites 3 & 4, 8 Kings Court, Willie Snaith Road, Newmarket, Suffolk CB8 7SG, UK. Submission of abstracts by e-mail is acceptable (louise.holder@rw-communications.co.uk). In this event, a hard copy should also be sent by post or fax (+44 1638 667229).
7) All correspondence will be directed to the presenting author.
8) An individual may present more than one contribution.
9) Please state your preference for a verbal or poster presentation.

Abstracts must be received by R&W Communications
no later than 30th April 2006

Content
The BODY of the abstract should be organised as follows:
1) Statement of the purpose and relevance of the study.
2) A brief description of methods if pertinent.
3) A summary of results.
4) A statement of conclusions reached.

Audiovisual Presentation
Data projectors will be used for image display of powerpoint presentations

PUBLISHED PROCEEDINGS

The proceedings of this conference will be subjected to full peer review. It should be noted that presentation at the meeting does not guarantee acceptance for publication in the proceedings.

The deadline for receipt of full manuscripts will be 15th September 2008. This is to enable the scrutineering process to be completed prior to the conference. Authors will have the opportunity to discuss scrutineers’ reports with the editors during the conference.

To ensure prompt publication of the conference proceedings, it is essential that manuscripts are submitted by the deadline.

 

 The International Conference for the Health, Safety and Welfare of Jockeys

October 13th – 14th

A Doctors Conference, a meeting of Medical Officers representing Racing Authorities will be held in collaboration with ICRAV, during the period 13rd- 14th October.

This meeting will include discussions on the following topics, Weight Management in Jockeys, Dehydration in Jockeys, Testing jockeys for prohibited substances and Protective Equipment.
